As quickly as Kadath had reformed and gotten back on track in the Fall of 1998, the band was once again, falling apart.  In March Joe began to distance himself from the rest of the group again.  Even though new songs were written and we seemed to be making progress, it was clear to us that Joe's heart really wasn't in it.  Once again we parted ways with Joe and began auditioning drummers.

After a few months with no luck finding a new drummer, we moved out of the rehearsal space when we discovered that our equipment was being used without our permission.  We (Patrick and Shawn) decided to take a break while keeping an eye out for potential band members.  During this time Patrick composed "Calm Before The Storm", a companion instrumental piece to "The Silver Key".  Shawn launched the official Kadath website in the Fall.
